The
God in me Greets the God In You
By Rose Whaley. Wakeup
everybody, no more time for backward thinking. Do not give up on yourself,
your children, your mate or your people. Those who profit from this racist
system in America have created most of the problems and negative condition
that exist in the world today, then they blame the victims. They can build
bombs to destroy other countries but cannot stop drugs from coming into
this country (what a joke!)
They keep building more and
larger jails, instead of more and better schools (think about it). The
system say “stop the violence”, but legalize boxing and called it a
sport and entertainment. There is an unequal
justice system, poor education
system, high cost of living and low minimum wages. Now we have work fair
which is just a larger legalized plantation. The system control our mind
through fear, limitation, false beliefs which perpetuate low self esteem,
low self worth, distrust, self hatred for ourselves and others. In 1712,
William Lynch gave the slave owner a method to control the slaves for
generations, fear, distrust and envy for control purpose. We still
continue to support the oppressor every chance we get. We buy all of their
over priced products, such as Caller ID, star 69, cellular phones,
beepers, 15 or more cable channels and top designer fashions. These are
lots of material things that do not have any real value. Then we say to
each other “we are poor people who can not afford a better life.’ We
need to establish our own sense of values, principles, respect, dignity
and conviction within ourselves. Sometimes we need to standup for
something greater than material things, fame or money.
We are strong, intelligent,
loving, beautiful and ever evolving spiritual beings. We do not need
material things, labels, or anyone to validate ourselves. We all are the
same. We are spiritual beings made from the best there is, God our true
spirit. No one can give us what we can not give to ourselves. We need to
stop being the victim. We must take our power back and do what’s right.
Seek out the whole truth for ourselves.
There are three kinds of
people in the world. Those who make things happen, those who things happen
to, and those who don’t know what happened. Listen to the timely words
of people like Marvin Gaye in his lyrics from the song What’s Going On,
Harold Melvin and the Blue notes “Wake Up Everybody”. The movies Miss
Evers Boys, Amistad, Sphere and including some good reading material “Black
Lies/White Lies” by Tony Brown, “Black Labor/White Wealth” by Claude
Anderson Ed, D, “Fight the Power” by Chuck D, “Black Robe/White
Justice”, by Bruce Wright, “What’s Going On” by Nathan McCall and
Betrayal by Any Other Name by Dr. Khalid Al-Mansour. A man once said, “that
he believes the problems with African Americans is that blacks think they
know everything and understands nothing.” We must learn to listen to our
inner guidance.
About four years ago I was
at St. Barnabas hospital talking to the receptionist about spirituality.
(It’s what I do best). A lady over heard our conversation, it caught her
interest, as I was leaving we walked out together. She asked me some
questions about spirituality.
I gave her my telephone number. The next day she called
and told me that both her and her husband lost their job and were
experiencing financial difficulties. They had two or three children and
were very low on food. I thought she was going to ask for money or food.
Instead, she asked me what books could she buy in order to understand the
power within. I took her address and purchased a book for her entitled “Creative
Visualization” by Shakti Gawain. I also included a video tape about the
Christ within all of us (the power). Approximately two weeks later, I
received a phone call from her. She was happy to tell me that there was
now plenty of food and she had high hopes. I pray that she stays focused .
The bible says “It is done to you according to your belief, God can only
do for you, what he can do through you.” I am a designer and
seamstress. I have always wanted to be my own boss. In 1978, I opened my
first custom made fashion boutique. I knew I could do it because I was
inspired by a dear friend named Ann Sealy and her family. They had their
own fabric and trimming store. They were the only black owned store in my
neighborhood. They offered excellent service with love and honesty. I am
proud to know them. The Sealy family were good business people. I’ve
always admired them. They have a strong family bond. I enjoy my
conversations with Ann even now. She is always down to earth and she kept
it real. These positive images from my teen years has had a profound
effect on my life today. We should never forget the good someone does for
us. It does not matter how small, it makes a difference in the Universe.
We are all part of the whole (God). God
Love You!!
